As much as I've been enjoying baking more and more lately, I still get really excited when I find no bake treats. These Oreo truffles require no baking at all and look and taste like they are complicated, but they are probably the easiest dessert I've ever made! They only have 3 ingredients and you can easily control how little or how many you want to make. These truffles are extremely rich and indulgent, so remember that a little will go a long way with these-you probably want to keep them on the small side (a little larger than bite size). I coated mine with dark chocolate because Matt and I are not huge fans of white chocolate, but I think they would look gorgeous coated in white chocolate and decorated with red and green frosting.
I can't believe that we are already into week 4 of the 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop! Thank you so much to Brenda from
Meal Planning Magic for organizing this fun hop!
Oreo Truffles
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened (I used light)
1 package Oreo cookies, finely crushed (about 4-1/4 cups) (I crushed in the food processor)
Semi-Sweet or White Chocolate, melted (to dip)
White chocolate, melted (if desired)
Mix cream cheese and cookie crumbs until well combined. Roll to shape into truffles. Dip in melted chocolate; place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Allow truffles to sit 1 hour or until firm.
If desired, decorate with more melted chocolate, colored frosting, crushed oreos, etc.
Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.
