Is it too soon to be thinking about Christmas? After all, there is a chill in the air! As someone who just recently found a new love for baking, I am excited to try out a bunch of recipes for the holidays this year. So, when I found out about the 12 Weeks of Christmas Treats blog hop hosted by Meal Planning Magic, I knew I would want to participate. This blog hop is really cool-a bunch of us bloggers are making and posting holiday treats every Thursday from now until Christmas (can you believe that Christmas is only 12 weeks away!). Most treats can be frozen for that time, so when you need that special treat for a holiday party, get together or cookie exchange, the treats will be ready to go! Or, you can go ahead and save all the recipes until you are ready to make them!
These Chocolate Toffee Brownies are perfect for any holiday spread and will definitely be a hit. I make these all the time, and I can honestly say they are my favorite brownie! They are soft and chewy on the outside and crunchy and sweet on the inside. I love making these year round, so they are perfect to make to munch on while you are doing your holiday cooking and they are also great to make now for tailgates, watching football, watching baseball or even just to munch on!
Chocolate Toffee Brownies
3 (6-ounce) candy bars with almonds and toffee chips (such as Symphony brand)
Cooking spray
1 (17.6-ounce) package brownie mix with walnuts (or your favorite recipe for brownies, not baked)
Cooking spray
1 (17.6-ounce) package brownie mix with walnuts (or your favorite recipe for brownies, not baked)
Prepare the brownie mix according to package directions-do not bake. Alternatively, prepare a brownie recipe with walnuts.
Line a 13 by 9-inch cake pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray. Spoon in half of the brownie batter and smooth with a spatula or the back of a spoon. Place the candy bars side by side on top of the batter. Cover with the remaining batter.
Bake according to package or recipe directions. Let cool completely, then lift from the pan using the edges of the foil. (This makes it easier to cut the brownies).
