Banana Nutella Swirl Bread

As soon as I saw this recipe, I knew it wouldn't be long before I would make it.  Nutella is something that Matt and I both really enjoy and we also both love banana bread...I don't know why I never thought of putting the two together before!  This bread comes out perfectly moist and rich-I think it's perfect for dessert or a rich breakfast-it definitely tastes more like a cake than a bread.  Next time I make it, I might try to put some chocolate chips in with the batter-I think the flavor and consistency from the chips would be fabulous in this already decadent bread!

Banana Nutella Swirl Bread

2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups mashed ripe banana (I used one large banana)
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
3/4 cup Nutella

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Coat a 9-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.

In a medium mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

In a large mixing bowl, using a mixer on medium speed, beat together banana, butter, the sugars and the vanilla until creamy and well combined.  Beat in eggs, one at a time, until well combined-about 2 minutes.  Reduce mixer to low and add in flour mixture.  Mix until just combined.  Divide half of the batter into a medium bowl; stir in Nutella until combined.

Alternate large spoonfuls of batter into loaf pan until all of the batter is used up.  Gently swirl batter with a knife-not too much! Bake for 1 hour or until well risen, deep golden brown, and a toothpick inserted into bread comes out with moist crumbs attached.
